Festivals in GermanyGermany is one of the top travel destinations in Europe. Aside from the spectacular views and architectural sites that you will see around Germany, there are these festivals that also attracts tourists. Germany has numerous festivals that are being celebrated every year.

The numerous big festivals that Germany is famous for are the: the Berlin Film Festival, the Berlin Love Parade, Frankfurt’s Book Fair and the Munich Oktoberfest. These festivals are held in the three different cities of Germany. The Berlin Film Festival and the Berlin Love Parade is held in Berlin, the capital of Germany and the Munich Oktoberfest and the Frankfurt Book Fair are held respectively in Munich and Frankfurt. The Berlin Film Festival is one of the film festival competitors of the Venice and the Cannes and one of the prestigious European film festivals. This festival has been held every year since the post world war. However the Berlin Love Parade started in 1989, this is a mobile party that celebrates tolerance and love. The German techno DJ Motte started this mobile party along with his friends in 1989 and now this has been one of the biggest love parade parties. Other countries such as Austria, South Africa, Mexico and may others have also organized love parade parties, the same as in Berlin. The Frankfurt Book fair is being held every year in Frankfurt and is the biggest book fair since the 15th century. This plays a big part in the global trade business. You can find more than four hundred thousand books that are being displayed. Book enthusiasts, writers, publishers, critics and many others from the book industry come here to join the book fair. And last but not the least; the Munich Oktoberfest is one of the biggest festivals that are being celebrated worldwide. This Oktoberfest started in 1810, this was held as a royal wedding and since then the celebration with beers, and horse races are repeated annually. Oktoberfest last for sixteen days, sixteen days of beer drinking and partying, and is held on the month of September.

There is also the Berlin Marathon, this event you can do sightseeing at the same time. This is you can join the Berlin Marathon, you will be running a forty-two-kilometer course which can take you to the major sights in Germany, the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin’s city hall, victory column and many more.
